Soccer Game Preview: North Lenoir vs. North Johnston + How To Watch

The North Lenoir Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the North Johnston Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Lenoir is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

North Lenoir will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Tuesday, then bounced right back against West Craven on Thursday. The Hawks never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. MADDOX SMITH was a massive factor in the win as he booted in five goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, North Johnston was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They came up short against Washington, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, North Johnston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Washington are ranked 99th).

North Lenoir's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-12. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those three contests. As for North Johnston, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-15-2.

North Lenoir was able to grind out a solid victory over North Johnston in their previous matchup on October 2nd, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
