Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. American Canyon Wolves

The Northgate Broncos will take on the American Canyon Wolves in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Northgate's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Thursday, everything went Northgate's way against Antioch as Northgate made off with a 66-44 win. The 66-point effort marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

It was another big night for Grayson Boustead, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rufus Lee, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points along with six assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, American Canyon didn't have quite enough to beat Pinole Valley on Saturday and fell 52-50. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 19-8 in the first quarter.

American Canyon's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Northgate, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Northgate strolled past American Canyon in their previous meeting back in November of 2018 by a score of 62-48. Will Northgate repeat their success, or does American Canyon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
