Baseball Recap: Horizon Drops Highest Score of Season Against Colonial

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Horizon). Everything went their way against the Colonial Grenadiers on Wednesday as the Horizon Hawks made off with a 14-2 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won three games in a row.

Brayden Crow looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (two).

At the plate, Jose Massanet was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Tristan Schein was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Horizon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Horizon's record is now 9-4. As for Colonial, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Horizon will take on Deltona in a tournament on Monday. Colonial will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on University at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. Colonial is facing University at the right time seeing as University is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
