Basketball Recap: Bonneville Takes a Loss

Bonneville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 53-32 to the Clearfield Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Falcons are ranked 29th).

Despite the loss, Bonneville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Baya Jimenez dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Clearfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabelle Wyaskett out in front who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Wyaskett has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brighton Bernards, who put up nine points.

Bonneville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Clearfield, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Bonneville will welcome Roy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Clearfield, they will challenge Woods Cross at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
