Soccer Game Preview: Cherryville vs. Bessemer City

The Cherryville Ironmen will head out to face off against the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cherryville's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Cherryville managed to slip by Burns the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Ironmen came up short against the Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 9-0. That's two games in a row now that Cherryville have lost by exactly nine goals.

Meanwhile, Bessemer City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 9-0 to Highland Tech. While losing is never fun, Bessemer City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 494th, while Highland Tech are ranked 144th).

Cherryville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Bessemer City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
