Baseball Game Preview: Granite City Warriors vs. Waterloo Bulldogs

The Granite City Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Waterloo Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Granite City has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 22.

On Wednesday, Granite City came up short against Freeburg and fell 5-2.

Granite City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Cooper, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Waterloo was able to grind out a solid victory over Civic Memorial on Wednesday, taking the game 7-3. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Granite City's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Waterloo, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.

Granite City couldn't quite finish off Waterloo when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 9-7. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
