Estero has won four straight games at home, while Aubrey Rogers has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Wildcats will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Estero is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Estero didn't have quite enough to beat Gulf Coast and fell 5-4.
Ava Weinbaum made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Klatt, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Aubrey Rogers got the win against American Heritage on Saturday by a conclusive 20-5. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Delaney McCroskery was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. McCroskery was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alexis Alvarez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Sofia Ardezzone was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Aubrey Rogers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Estero's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Aubrey Rogers, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Estero has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Aubrey Rogers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Estero's way against Aubrey Rogers when the teams last played on April 1st, as Estero made off with an 11-3 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
