Baseball Game Preview: Biglerville Canners vs. Littlestown Thunderbolts

The Biglerville Canners will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Littlestown Thunderbolts at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Biglerville is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against York Catholic. Biglerville was the clear victor by a 10-3 margin over York Catholic on Friday. The Canners haven't had any issues with the Fighting Irish recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Aiden Hoffman made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Bo Forney and Tavian Mcauliffe did most of the damage at the plate: Forney scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Mcauliffe went 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave Forney a new career-high in RBI (three). Caleb Woolson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Littlestown sidestepped Hanover for a 3-2 victory.

Littlestown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Dillon, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That hit marked the first that Dillon got this season.
