Softball Recap: Granada Hills Charter's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 13

Granada Hills Charter had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Carson Colts on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Highlanders, who have now won 20 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Addison Moorman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zoe Justman was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Elysse Diaz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Granada Hills Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carson only managed four hits.

The win (which was Granada Hills Charter's 13th in a row) raised their record to 28-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Carson, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-4-1.

As of now, neither Granada Hills Charter nor the Colts have any future games scheduled.
