Basketball Recap: Bastrop Skates Past Family Community Christian with Ease

Bastrop entered their tilt with Family Community Christian on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past Family Community Christian 74-38. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Family Community Christian are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Bastrop to victory were Antron Mason II and Lebron Deal. Mason II went 14 of 21 on his way to 32 points in addition to seven assists and three steals, while Deal shot 5-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten steals. The match was Mason II's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Adameyon Moore, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Bastrop smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Bastrop has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Family Community Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-21.

Bastrop will face off against Woodlawn-Shreveport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Family Community Christian, they will be playing at home against Summerfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
