Soccer Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Marshall was not quite Sotomayor's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Sotomayor WILDCATS by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the WILDCATS this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in January.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Sotomayor, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Coming up, Marshall will challenge Harlan at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Marshall's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Sotomayor, they will face off against Holmes at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Considering Holmes has lost five straight at home and Sotomayor four straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
