Softball Recap: Andrean's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Andrean dropped their record down to 15-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 6-2 to the Valparaiso Vikings. The Fighting 59ers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Aubrey Grasha was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

As for Valparaiso, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

On Valparaiso's side, Olivia Rosenbaum tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Elizabeth Kosek was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariyana Bishop, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Andrean will square off against Illiana Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valparaiso, they will take on Boone Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
