Baseball Game Preview: Buckeye Panthers vs. Pickering Red Devils

The Buckeye Panthers will take on the Pickering Red Devils at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Buckeye has five straight victories, Pickering has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Buckeye barely beat Many the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pickering came up short against Vinton on Thursday and fell 8-5.

Buckeye pushed their record up to 23-6 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Pickering, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.
