Basketball Recap: Big Sandy Wildcats vs. Evadale Rebels

Big Sandy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 63-23 loss at the hands of the Evadale Rebels. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Evadale had a senior duo take command as Warren Brewer went 8 for 14 en route to 17 points in addition to seven boards and six assists and Jaden Gravis shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Gravis' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Talon Bennett was another key player, going 5 of 6 on his way to 12 points.

Big Sandy's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Evadale, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-7.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Big Sandy Wildcats take on the Danbury Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Evadale, they will be playing at home against Deweyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evadale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Deweyville likes a good challenge.
