Preview: West Middlesex vs. Maplewood
On Friday Maplewood take on West Middlesex at 7:00 PM. Maplewood is expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the match prepared for a fight.
Last week, Maplewood had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 35-28 victory over Cochranton. No one had a better game by the numbers than junior JD McFadden, who brought his A game into the match. He threw 3 TDs and picked up 69 yards on the ground. One of the most thrilling moments of the contest was McFadden's 75-yard TD pass in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, West Middlesex simply couldn't be stopped, as they easily beat Lakeview 47-0. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-0. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up they can run the score.
