Softball Recap: Clayton Has No Trouble Against Logan

Clayton barely beat Logan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 21-10 victory on Friday. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by nine runs or more this season.

Issabell Reed and Briana Taylor did most of the damage at the plate: Reed scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Taylor scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Cheyana Encinias was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

The win got Clayton back to even at 5-5. As for Logan, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Clayton is set to take on their familiar foe Tucumcari at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Logan will square off against rival Santa Rosa at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
