Basketball Recap: Mary Claire Mccommons Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lincoln County

Lake Oconee Academy won the last time they faced Lincoln County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lake Oconee Academy Titans came out on top against the Lincoln County Red Devils by a score of 46-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Lake Oconee Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mary Claire Mccommons, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Mccommons a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Ansleigh Padgett, who posted 14 points and five rebounds.

Lake Oconee Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Despite the defeat, Lincoln County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Janiah Norman dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of India Wright, who earned four points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Lake Oconee Academy's record is now 17-7. As for Lincoln County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Lake Oconee Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-51 defeat against Washington-Wilkes on the 14th. As for Lincoln County, they have also already played their next match, a 61-46 win against Greene County on the 14th.
