Clay County is 8-2 against Knox Central since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

Clay County is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Corbin just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Redhounds, falling 14-4.

Meanwhile, Knox Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-9 margin over the Tigers.

Sydney Grubb was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Autumn Bryant was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Knox Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Clay County now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Knox Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Clay County came out on top in a nail-biter against Knox Central when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
