Basketball Game Preview: Callaway Chargers vs. South Panola Tigers

The Callaway Chargers will face off against the South Panola Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Callaway will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

Callaway is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Lake Cormorant to the tune of 56-25. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, South Panola hadn't done well against Columbus recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. South Panola snuck past Columbus with a 48-43 win.

Callaway pushed their record up to 27-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points over those games. As for South Panola, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Callaway came up short against South Panola when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 57-46. Can Callaway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
