Baseball Recap: Center Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Center and Colfax, and Colfax kept the tradition alive. The Cougars fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 9-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Chris Sandoval-Cesena and Diego Sandoval did some serious damage despite the final result: Sandoval-Cesena went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Sandoval went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Center has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12-1 record this season. As for Colfax, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8-1.

While Center had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
