Basketball Recap: Winter Springs Comes Up Short

Winter Springs and Copper Hills faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Friday. The Winter Springs Bears were dealt a 62-21 loss at the hands of the Copper Hills Grizzlies. The game marked the Bears' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Jullianna Woodard was Winter Springs' leading scorer, having posted six points. Taylor Lane held things down on the boards with three rebounds.

Copper Hills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skylie Barker, who went 8 of 12 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aspen Fraser, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Winter Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Copper Hills, their record is now 6-4.

Winter Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-32 victory against Thrall on the 21st. As for Copper Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-36 win against Cathedral Prep on the 21st.
