After only two runs in their last contest, United made sure to put some runs up on the board against Purchase Line on Friday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Red Dragons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.
Ryan Felix made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for United: the team is 6-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Braden Butler looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Back at the plate, United got a massive performance out of Connor Darr, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave Darr a new career-high. Shaydon Oleksa was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
United always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Purchase Line only posted an OBP of .310.
United pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Purchase Line, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-11.
United wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-5 victory against Cambria Heights on the 12th. As for Purchase Line, they have also already played their next match, a 9-7 win against Marion Center on the 12th.
