Basketball Recap: Jupiter Christian's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Jupiter Christian waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 85-67 win over the Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 69-49 last Friday.

Jupiter Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Rivera out in front who went 8 of 13 en route to 24 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. The contest was Rivera's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jake Becker, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 22 points and six boards.

Rivera wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Jupiter Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Somerset College Prep Academy only posted six assists.

Somerset College Prep Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brian Forde, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Forde has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of William Tracey, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Jupiter Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

Jupiter Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-50 defeat against Benjamin on the 31st. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, they will face off against Tradition Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tradition Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season.
