Victory Christian Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since April 19th.
Victory Christian Academy was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (101-100), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 15-6.

Victory Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brad Chier, who had 22 kills, 16 digs, and seven aces. Chier is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 29 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Esteban Torres, who had ten digs and six aces.
They weren't the only good server: Victory Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, High Tech Mesa came tearing into last Thursday's match with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lions.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant High Tech Mesa was: they took every set by at least 24 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-1, 25-1, 25-1.
The win made it two in a row for Victory Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 19-14. As for High Tech Mesa, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12.
Victory Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from High Tech Mesa in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
