Basketball Recap: Refugio Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Refugio hadn't done well against Port Aransas recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Refugio Bobcats came out on top against the Port Aransas Marlins by a score of 43-33. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 31-24 win the Marlins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Refugio's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cedie Wills, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Wills is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bradi Fox-Smith, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Refugio has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Port Aransas, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-7.

Refugio will take on Three Rivers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Port Aransas, they will face off against Skidmore-Tynan at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
