Kings Mountain is 9-1 against South Point since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mountaineers will head out to take on the Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Point, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Cherryville 6-4.

Stella Absher made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run.

In other batting news, Taylyn Ledford was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

South Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Kings Mountain's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for South Point, their record now sits at 12-7.
