Baseball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Lincoln was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rantoul Eagles. The Railsplitters were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Rantoul, they pushed their record up to 15-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

The future could be bright for both Lincoln and Rantoul: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Railsplitters will try to hand MacArthur their 18th-straight loss when the two meet at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rantoul will look to extend Bloomington's six-game losing streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
