Basketball Recap: Glenwood Comes Up Short

Glenwood lost against Notre Dame back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Glenwood Tigers fell 58-51 to the Notre Dame Titans. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 774th, while the Titans are ranked 292nd).

When it comes to explaining why Glenwood lost, don't look at Ian Spiess. Despite the final result, he shot 5-for-5 from long range and dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Spiess is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Wyatt McNeil, who posted 11 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Glenwood and nudges their season record down to 3-12. As for Notre Dame, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Notre Dame beat Glenwood by a score of 53-49 on Friday.
