Basketball Game Preview: Mid-Peninsula Dragons vs. East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs

The Mid-Peninsula Dragons will venture away from home to square off against the East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mid-Peninsula's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Mid-Peninsula will head into Tuesday's matchup after some sweet revenge against Summit Preparatory: Mid-Peninsula made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Summit Preparatory, but still couldn't quite topple them. Mid-Peninsula breezed by Summit Preparatory to the tune of 72-45 on Tuesday. With the Dragons ahead 39-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, East Palo Alto Academy's game on Tuesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They blew past San Francisco Christian 47-26.

Mid-Peninsula better focus on containing Dreshon Barker-Goode and Abraham Pacheco as the pair were huge in East Palo Alto Academy's win. Barker-Goode posted 20 points, while Pacheco put up 19 points. The dominant performance gave Pacheco a new career-high in points.

East Palo Alto Academy's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Mid-Peninsula, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Mid-Peninsula strolled past East Palo Alto Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 65-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mid-Peninsula since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
