Softball Recap: White Pine Takes a Loss

White Pine and Needles squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but White Pine had to settle for second. They lost 14-7 to the Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-2 defeat last Saturday.

Layla Ruesch was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Kendra Derbidge was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

White Pine's loss dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Needles, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 22 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season.

As of now, neither White Pine nor Needles have any future games scheduled.
