Baseball Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss

Middletown came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the North Providence Cougars, falling 10-2. If the Islanders were looking for revenge after losing 9-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Middletown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan LeVasseur, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. LeVasseur also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for North Providence, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown will welcome Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Providence, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Toll Gate at 5:00 p.m.
