It was a good run, but Sumter County unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 64-41 to the Hardaway Hawks. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hardaway found their leader in sophomore Rhianna Boynton, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Boynton has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 13 times she's played. Mikayla Johnson was another key player, putting up 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Sumter County's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Hardaway, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Sumter County Panthers take on the Carver Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sumter County is on a four-game streak of home wins, Carver a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Hardaway, they will challenge Kendrick at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hardaway's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 games.
