Burbank extended the longest winning streak in Metropolitan this week by beating Wood, 61-28. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Sacramento scaled the state rankings by moving to 245 from 322 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Dragons climbed the ranks as a result of topping Benicia 42-35.
Sacramento's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Caden Voges threw for 257 and 2 touchdowns and Damen Wheeler had 161 yards receiving. On the ground Jimmy Hatch chipped in 81 yards. Kyree Stephens helped Sacramento's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 45 yards.
He went 18-26 with 0 interceptions.
Voges put up the best numbers through the air as Paul Doherty's team bested the Panthers. Voges' favorite target this week was Wheeler, who caught 8 passes for 161 yards.
The Dragons' Voges and Wheeler led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Voges has thrown for 3,309 yards this season, while Wheeler, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 66 catches for 1,288 yards. Kennedy's Floyd Hillis-Cooper leads the league in rushing yards with 1,828.
Sacramento's Stephens is only 56 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the Oakdale. He has recorded 58 catches for 944 yards this year.
Burbank took down the Wildcats 61-28 last week, the largest margin of any game.
