Basketball Recap: Amherst Central Takes a Loss

Amherst Central lost against West Seneca West back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Amherst Central Tigers fell 59-48 to the West Seneca West Warhawks. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Seneca West got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Gunnells out in front who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Ceccarelli, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards.

Amherst Central now has a losing record at 1-2. As for West Seneca West, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Amherst Central Tigers challenge the Pioneer Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Seneca West, they will host Lockport at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
