Norco waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Citrus Valley Blackhawks by a score of 19-6. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 403rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Norco's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. Kennington Moreno was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by herself.

Norco's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Citrus Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Norco wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 20-6 victory against Roosevelt on the 15th. As for Citrus Valley, they have also already played their next match, a 7-6 win against Poly on the 13th.
