Soccer Game Preview: Ridgewood vs. Northside

Ridgewood hasn't had much luck against Northside recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Ridgewood has given up an average of 5.7 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Ridgewood's offense. They came up short against Riverside-Brookfield on Thursday, falling 6-0. Ridgewood have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Northside was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They lost 4-0 to Whitney Young. Northside have struggled against Whitney Young recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Ridgewood's loss dropped their record down to 1-11-2. As for Northside, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-5-1.

Ridgewood skirted past Northside 1-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
