Basketball Recap: Mullen Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Mullen extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jacob Walker. The Broncos put the hurt on the Arthur County Wolves with a sharp 44-23 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Walker, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 16 points along with five boards and five steals. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Ben Werner was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Arthur County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carter Storer, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Allen, who earned eight points and six rebounds.

Mullen's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Arthur County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Mullen has already played their next matchup, a 54-45 defeat against Medicine Valley on the 16th. As for Arthur County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-38 loss against Brady on the 16th.
