Redwood waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 51-6 win over the Mt. Whitney Pioneers. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-6.

It was another big night for Jimmie Burk, who rushed for 83 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. He has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played.

Redwood's run defense was locked in: Mt. Whitney could only muster 1.9 yards per carry. While two picked up at least seven total tackles, Brody Preisendorf stood above the rest. He made seven total tackles and defended one pass. Redwood didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.8.

Redwood's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Mt. Whitney, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
