Basketball Recap: Shannon Takes a Loss

Shannon lost against Saltillo back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Shannon Red Raiders took a 59-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saltillo Tigers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Saltillo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Crayden Shannon, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 20 points and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Shannon has scored at least a third of Saltillo's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Foster, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards.

Shannon's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Saltillo, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-3.

Shannon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-50 defeat against Ripley on the 17th. As for Saltillo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-44 loss against Tupelo on the 14th.
