The Furlow Charter School Falcons will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Quitman County Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Furlow Charter School suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were beaten by Manchester 84-3. Furlow Charter School was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-2.
Despite the defeat, Furlow Charter School got a solid performance out of Kamari Deriso, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Quitman County pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 75-62 to Terrell County. Quitman County has struggled against Terrell County recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Furlow Charter School's loss was their 16th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.9 points per game. As for Quitman County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
