Volleyball Recap: Tokay Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Tokay took on Kimball on Sunday. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Jaguars. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Their offense was headlined by Kaci Whatley and Alyssa Wilson, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Tatum Stewart and her 12 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Tokay's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Kimball, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Tokay will challenge McNair at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Kimball, they will face off against East Union at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
