Basketball Game Preview: Chantilly Chargers vs. James Madison Warhawks

Chantilly hasn't had much luck against James Madison recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Chantilly Chargers will take on the James Madison Warhawks at 7:30 p.m. James Madison took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chantilly, who comes in off a win.

Chantilly is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since December 13, 2024 on Friday. They blew past South Lakes, posting a 68-40 win. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, James Madison was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 59-53 to Centreville. While losing is never fun, the Warhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Wildcats are ranked 11th).

James Madison now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Chantilly, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Chantilly strolled past James Madison in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 45-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chantilly since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
