Basketball Recap: Normal University Comes Up Short

If Normal University was feeling good fresh off their 60-30 takedown of Decatur Eisenhower on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Normal University Pioneers came up short against the Taylorville Tornadoes on Saturday, falling 51-29. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 103rd).

Normal University's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Taylorville, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Normal University will welcome Ottawa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taylorville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mattoon at 7:30 p.m.
