Preview: Canutillo Eagles vs. Bel Air Highlanders
Canutillo and Bel Air are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2017, but not for long. The Canutillo Eagles will be playing at home against the Bel Air Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Canutillo beat Del Valle 34-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Canutillo.
Among those leading the charge was Rebekah Perez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now blocked two or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Folkner, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Bel Air has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 68-48 margin over Artesia. Winning may never get old, but Bel Air sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Canutillo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Bel Air, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
