Softball Recap: Platteview Escapes with a Win

Platteview was handed a 12-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a 10-9 victory against the Seward Bluejays. The high-scoring effort was just what the Trojans needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Platteview's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isla Noda, who went 2-for-3 while logging 2 runs, 1 RBI, and 1 walk.

Platteview has been performing well recently, winning four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season. The victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Seward, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-15.

Platteview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Gretna East on the 9th. Seward does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
