Game recap: Citrus High School Football Team takes down Crystal River

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - Citrus (Inverness, Fla.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 50-6 win over Crystal River (Fla.).

The Hurricanes put up 13 points in the opening frame. Citrus scored on a passing touchdown and a Moore Deion touchdown pass to Sam Franklin.

After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, CHS was up 29-0 at the half.

The Inverness school expanded its lead to 37 points entering the fourth quarter. The Hurricanes scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Deion to Wilcox Gabrial.

Crystal River's lone touchdown came on a 27-yard pass in the third quarter.



Citrus came into the game allowing 15.3 points per game.

Citrus (9-1) goes up against Springstead when they take the field next week. The Eagles go into the week with a record of 8-1.
