Softball Recap: Salem Academy Charter Navigator vs. Cathedral Panthers
Salem Academy Charter had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They skirted past the Cathedral Panthers 12-11. The win was just what Salem Academy Charter needed coming off of a 22-10 defeat in their prior game.
Kaedynce Kauth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off four hits. Kauth was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Dihanna Vicioso was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Crisbel Vicioso, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
The victory got Salem Academy Charter back to even at 1-1.
Salem Academy Charter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-11 win vs. Cristo Rey on the 9th.
