Dominique Allen and Nick Fitzgerald provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Jenkins. The connection went for 90 yards, the longest such play in AAAAA Region 3 this season.
Ware County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Bradwell Institute, 39-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Richmond Hill's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Allen threw for 90 and one touchdown and Fitzgerald had 90 yards receiving. On the ground David Katzman chipped in 221 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Jessie Robbins of Groves is the league leader in passing yards this season with 499. He has also thrown four touchdowns. On the ground, the Wildcats' Katzman has rushed for 961 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Fitzgerald. The Richmond Hill star has 14 catches for 274 yards.
Richmond Hill's Katzman needs only 39 yards against Windsor Forest next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in AAAAA Region 3 this week will be when Ware County takes on Effingham County. The Gators are in first place, while the Rebels are in fourth place.
The Wildcats made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,294 from 2,801. The improvement came about via a 44-14 victory over the Warriors last week.
