Basketball Recap: Moundridge extends road winning streak to ten

Basketball Recap: Moundridge Wildcats vs. Ell-Saline Cardinals

After losing to the Ell-Saline Cardinals the last time they met, the Moundridge Wildcats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Moundridge strolled past the Cardinals with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 50-32. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Moundridge has scored all year.

Leading Moundridge to victory were Bear Moddelmog and Kreighton Kanitz. Moddelmog scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, while Kanitz scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Kanitz has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Zach Dixon was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.

Moundridge's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.3 points. As for Ell-Saline, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moundridge is on the road again on Friday and plays the Inman Teutons at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Inman will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Wildcats are ranked 17th). As for Ell-Saline, they will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors on Saturday. Berean Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
