Millbrook hasn't had much luck against Wake Forest recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Millbrook is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Knightdale last Thursday as they made off with a 19-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the match before.

Nicole Drew was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Drew was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Millbrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Wake Forest strolled into their game last Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Rolesville as they made off with an 8-1 win. Eight seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jil Livengood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Wake Forest let Mia Spahlinger and Teagan Campbell run wild. Spahlinger scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Campbell scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Abbey Lauer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Wake Forest pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Millbrook, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Millbrook might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Wake Forest when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
